#73: Self Sabotage

forever love podcast May 26, 2022

"A wise woman builds up her house but the foolish pulls it down with her own hands" Proverbs 14:1

We all engage in self-sabotage from time to time.

It's one of the ways we attempt to protect ourselves in the moment, but end up inadvertently hurting ourselves in light of eternity.

In today's episode, I'm sharing my own experience of self-sabotage as well as how to manage and avoid it in the future. We're going to talk about a few simple Christ-centered practices that you can incorporate into your life to help you manage your mind and emotions so that you don't act out in negative, self-sabotaging ways.

There are two primary ways to defeat self-sabotage

  1. Manage your mind by adopting the mind of Christ
  2. Process your emotions.

When you learn to hear your thoughts and feel your emotions without having to act on them, you can avoid self-sabotaging behaviors.

Today, I'll share my own struggles with self-sabotaging behaviors and the tools I'm using to keep myself accountable and growing both emotionally and spiritually.

🎉 I'm also inviting you to a brand new Masterclass "Get The Love You Long For" where I will expand on this topic, answer your real-life relationship questions and share even more ways to help you honor your God-given desire for marriage. Sign Up Now>>
